Each week of camp features a group of specialties. Each camper will choose four specialties they wish to participate in. Please note: some specialties require special equipment. Once specialties have been chosen, they may not be changed.

 

The registration deadline for Camp Seven Rivers is May 25. No walk-ins will be accepted at Camp Seven Rivers.

 

 

   Week 1 - June 7-11

 

iCircus

 

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, join us this week as we meet under the Big Top to learn things that will amaze one and all!  Performers of every age and ability will be learning skills you would only find in the Greatest Show on Earth! 

 

Specialties:

 

Juggling Can you juggle 3 balls? How about 4? Have you wished you could? Then come join our circus performers as they teach us the art of juggling.  Juggling is a great way to build self confidence, develop hand-eye coordination… and it’s tons of fun!

 

Circus Acts (Balloon Animals, The Globe)  The circus is full of amazing performers!  We will learn how to make balloons look like animals and other crazy things! Also this week, learn to “walk around the globe”. The globe is a giant ball you’ll learn to balance on and “walk” across the room. If zany adventure is what you love, Circus Acts is for you!

 

Acrobatics The greatest show on earth has some of the greatest acrobats on earth! If tumbling is your thing (or you want it to be) this is the spot for you! Come learn how acrobats prepare for a day at the circus!

 

Magic Acts  Ever wanted to make things disappear… learn slight of hand? We will be learning the tools of the trade and “wow” our audience with the illusions we learn. 

 

Clowning Clowning is characterized by humor, physical tricks, outrageous circumstances, and surprising outcomes. But don’t be fooled…. clowning is serious business. Come and set your inner clown free!

 

Stilts Want a bird’s eye view of the world? If so, come and amaze yourself (and your friends) with your new found skill!  Stilts are a fun way to learn balance and coordination.  Stilts are a part of every big top show!

 

   Week 2 - June 14 - 18

At Camp Seven Rivers we know that nothing can change without movement - so this week we will be moving to improve our game. Come join our top notch coaches as we move toward winning!

 

 

Specialties: 

Basketball – Campers will be taught the proper mechanics in dribbling, shooting and footwork.  Drills are designed for the beginner as well as an intermediate player. Team offense and defense will be taught.

Baseball – Join our experts and learn the basics of baseball including rules and regulations. Beginners will learn basic skills and intermediate level players will work on technique and improving skills. Campers will practice fielding, catching, pitching throwing and batting.

Tennis  – Campers will learn the basic skills needed for beginning tennis. Campers will practice and play against each other in order to grow and develop these newly acquired skills. Bring your racket and join the fun! (Tennis racket is required.)

Football This class is designed to build a fundamental foundation for any boy who desires to learn more about football as well as those who want to enhance their skills for football season. Players will be exposed to the most current teaching focusing on the techniques of speed and agility while learning the fundamentals of blocking, passing, running and catching. This specialty is not a contact form of football. All games will be played with “flags.”

Soccer -  Our focus is for campers to develop individual technique and a love for the game. Our coach will be teaching the fundamentals of soccer through fun and entertaining games that will enhance a player’s skill and development as he/she learns the importance of teamwork. 

GolfLearn some golf basics from our own golf pro, Rick Kelso.

Tap Have you always wanted to learn how to tap dance? Do you want to improve you technique? Bring your tap shoes and join us as we tap to a rockin’ beat! (Tap shoes are required.)

Hoola Hooping Hoola Hooping is all about movement and endurance! Come get fit and have fun as we hoola hoop our way to fitness. Join us if you dare!

   Week 3 - June 21-25

Writers, artists, directors, dancers, programmers, designers, builders – some of the most creative people on planet earth – make life more colorful and more fun for all of us. Come practice your specialty or learn a new skill this week as we celebrate some of the things that make life good.

 

Specialties:

Website Design Come learn about color, creative text effects and how to design customized graphics. Learn to build a website! From a basic webpage to an innovative, artistic website with interactive functions, you can get your vision online for the world to see!

Theater Set Design – Our “Scene Shop” is a hub of working artists. Our Theater Set Design Campers will be involved in the building of a large number of set pieces and costumes for our “Camp Rock” and “On Broadway” productions. Campers can learn to operate tools and construct and paint large and varied pieces of scenery. Campers will be involved in rigging curtains, painting backdrops and assisting with costumes.

On Broadway – Gotta sing? Gotta dance? If you’re a theatre-loving kid, “On Broadway” is the place for you! Join us as we provide a true glimpse of the dedication necessary to produce a successful Broadway show. Spend a week preparing hard for a one of kind Broadway performance!

Beaded, Braided & Banded Jewelry Want to learn how to design and create your own jewelry? Throughout the week, campers will be learning to make beaded, braided and banded jewelry. Each camper will be able to choose their own colors and styles after being taught the basic techniques of jewelry making.

Derby Car Design Ready, Set, Go! Get ready for the race of a lifetime! Campers will be joined by mentors to design and build a soapbox derby car. What do you do with a derby car when it’s built? Race it, of course!

Camp Rock What would it be like to be in a real band? Bring your inner rock star and see if you have what it takes! Come learn from the pros what it’s like to perform in a real band. Have you always wanted to try out instruments, writing music or sing with a real band? Camp Rock is the place for you!

   Week 4 - June 28-July 2

Kids are smart and they love to learn. This week we will be all about trying new things! Have you ever wanted to see a Camp Counselor eat a bug? How about make a ladybug cake or learn to survive in the wilderness? WARNING: come if you dare!

 

Specialties:

 

Crazy Cakes Come see what we’re cooking up in Crazy Cakes! Learn how to make cakes look like some of your favorite crazy creatures! Get ready for some sweet fun!

 

Bugs, Slugs and Grubs Oh my! Campers come ready to discover the unique purposes of some of God’s slimiest creations! Be prepared for fun!

 

Ickyology Have you ever wondered how many germs you get from double dipping? Or dreamed of seeing a watermelon explode? Then Ickyology is the place for you. We’ll put science to the test as we look at some pretty icky things up close!

 

Puppy Care and Obedience Puppies are awesome – when they are well trained.  Campers will be learning how to care for and train puppies. Learning to care for animals is a big responsibility. Come get some tips from an expert.

 

Robotics Come join us for an exciting hands-on opportunity to gain experience in robotics! Campers will gain experience basic physics, math, science and technology.  Campers will be designing and building things limited only by imagination and ingenuity. 

 

Outdoor Adventure  Which snakes are poisonous? What plants are dangerous? How do you get help if you are lost? How do you get across a river safely? Join our outdoor adventure as we learn how to survive in the great outdoors!

 

   Week 5 - July 5-9

Camp Seven Rivers is traveling around the world in only five days! This week campers will be learning about various cultures and countries from around the world. We will play new games, learn new languages and sample some new cuisines. Join us as we expand our horizons in a fun and exciting way! Arrivederci! 

 

Specialties: 

Germany Experience new things, have fun and relax. Vibrant cities with amazing architecture, enchanting medieval villages, traditional friendly festivals and regional specialities. Castles, palaces and abbeys are the epitome of German culture. Germany is a land of a thousand possibilities.

Egypt  A visit to this wonderful country includes Pyramids and temples, but it is also part of the Holy Land. Come see the sights of the wondrous Egyptian Red Sea or Sinai coasts, take in the high culture of Cairo, or even watch the river boats float down the Nile. Egypt is a place of many treasures.

Ireland  -  The Irish love traditions. So much so, in fact, that the country is full of them.  From food, to music and dance to festivals and fairs to language, the Irish think that Celtic blood runs through everything good and great!  Ireland is a beautiful land just waiting to be explored!

Brazil - Powdery white-sand beaches, majestic waterfalls, and Amazon adventure await you in Brazil! Come along as we visit one of the most fascinating wildlife watching places on the planet!

China – China is a place rich in customs and culture. China is one of the most populous nations on the earth and has a rich history. We will be exploring the food, the Great Wall, and the wonderful people that make this nation what it is today.

Australia G’Day mates! Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. It's about the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA, so there is much to explore. Don’t miss the fun as we head to the outback!
