Each week of camp will features a group of specialties. Each camper will choose two specialties they wish to participate in. Please note: some specialties are gender specific.

 

   Week 1 - June 9-13

 

Camp with the Coaches I

 

Get ready for “The Great Race.” Come join our Olympic camp as we reach for the gold. Campers will spend time training with our coaches and playing hard with their team. It’s all about teamwork and fun.

 

Specialties:

 

Baseball I – This is an introduction to the fundamental aspects of baseball including rules and regulations. Covered skills include throwing, fielding, catching, pitching, and batting. 

 

Basketball I – Campers will be taught proper mechanics in dribbling, shooting, and footwork. Drills are designed for the beginner as well as an intermediate player. Team offense and defense will be taught and campers will participate in a mini-tournament at the end of the week.

 

Volleyball I – This will include learning the proper skills in volleyball, including bumping, setting, serving, hitting, and blocking. It will be for beginning and intermediate play.

 

Soccer I –  Our focus is for campers to develop individual technique and a love for the game.  We teach the fundamentals of soccer through fun and entertaining games that will enhance a player’s skill development as he/she learns the importance of teamwork.

 

Flag Football I (boys only) – This class is designed to build a fundamental foundation for any boy who desires to learn more about football as well as those who want to enhance their techniques for the football season. All players will be exposed to the most current teaching focusing on the techniques of speed and agility and the fundamentals of blocking, passing, running, and catching. Each player will have the opportunity to use these new skills in team drills. This specialty is not a contact form of football. All games will be played with “flags”. 

 

Lacrosse I – This class is for campers who are ready to learn the basics of Lacrosse. Teamwork will be emphasized as campers develop basics skills needed to play this sport.

 

Dance I – The focus of our sessions will be learning beginning ballet and creative movement. This class is for beginners as well as intermediate level dancers. Campers will learn technique and position as they develop an appreciation for dance.   Dancers will learn a basic dance and perform it on Friday.

 

   Week 2 - June 16-20

 

Camp with the Coaches II

 

Campers will build on their sports skills as they participate in “Basic Training.”  Week 1 is not a requirement to participate in Week 2.

Cheerleading I – Campers will learn motion techniques, basic partner stunt skills, jump techniques and how to incorporate it all together into one fun routine. Several cheers and chants, as well as a dance routine will also be learned. Our goal is to build leadership and self-confidence through teamwork.

 

Dance II 

 

   Week 3 - June 23-27

 

Artapaloosa

 

Campers will take part in a week of artistic fun. Musical Drama, dance, cooking, jewelry making...something for all budding artists.

 

Specialties:

 

Cooking – Campers will learn basic measuring and cooking techniques as they cook up a different item each day. Students will be learning about kitchen safety and mixing ingredients. Campers will make a different item each day as they experience all aspects of cooking.

 

Musical Drama – Come be a part of our “Life School Musical.” Campers will learn the different aspects of performing a musical drama and be ready to show their skills on Friday!

 

Jewelry Making – Campers will learn the art of jewelry making and enjoy making beautiful creations of their own.

 

Paper Mache – This specialty is designed for kids who want to learn how to do paper mache.  Campers will work on five projects during the week and be able to bring their creations home.

 

Dance – Campers will learn basic dance and creative movement. 

 

Painting – Campers will learn the basics of artistic painting.  Campers will work on artistic technique and will work on different projects throughout the week.  

 

   Week 4 - June 30-July 3*

 

Splash Down

 

Campers will investigate all things water! Come join us for crafts, swimming, how to be a mermaid and fishing.

 

Specialties:

 

Swimming Lessons – Campers will learn the basics of swimming with certified lifeguards. All levels of experience are welcome as we have fun learning about safety in and around water. There is an extra $25 charge for this specialty.

 

Under Sea Creations – Campers will spend the week creating art projects related to water. This session is perfect for campers who enjoy arts and crafts!

 

Fishing – Campers will learn the basics of fishing and spend one day on a field trip practicing their new skills.

 

How to Be a Mermaid – Being a mermaid requires preparation. Campers will learn basics of skin care, hair care, and heart care as they learn what it takes to be a mermaid. Join our mermaid as she tells campers all of her under the sea secrets!

 

Water Games – Caution: wet and wild games ahead

 

*Due to the 4th of July holiday, this is a four-day camp week. The cost of this week is $70.

 

   Week 5 - July 7-11

 

Survivor

 

Campers will work with their team to accomplish tasks to stay on the island! Group games, crafts, and mystery food will make for a week full of adventure.

 

Specialties:

 

First Aid – Campers will learn “what to do if…” as they dive into this First Aid Course. Basic first aid will be covered as our campers learn to handle basic emergency situations.

 

Babysitting 101 – What does it take to be a babysitter? Come find out as campers explore what makes a responsible caretaker. 

 

Ultimate Games – Campers will spend the week playing hi-energy games. Join us if you dare!

 

Guitar – Campers will learn the basic techniques of guitar. Campers must bring their own guitar. This class is for beginning guitar players.

 

Karate – Campers will learn the basic techniques of karate. This includes the difference between discipline and self-discipline, how to focus and concentrate and how to be humble. Some techniques will include front and side stances, front kick, side kick and back kick, and a stranger danger class.

 

Cake Decorating – This class will teach the basics of cake decorating. Campers will decorate cakes during the week and have fun learning basic techniques in baking and decorating cakes.

 

Golf – Campers will learn the basics of golf. This specialty is for beginners wanting to learn more about the sport of golf.
