The
Key Center is a facility in Citrus County for those with
special learning needs. People from Seven Rivers visit
weekly to offer Bible study and worship to residents of the
Key Center. Residents of the Key Center also attend
worship services at Seven Rivers the first and third Sundays
of each month.
Here's just a few things volunteers are
saying about working with the Key Center Ministry:
"When we first decided to volunteer at the Key Center we
thought it would be a good ministry for us to get involved
in and we could befriend some of 'these' folks and teach
them about Christ at the same time. Kind of kill two birds
with one stone. Then we went. Then we met them. Then we fell
in love with them. Then they taught us about love. Then they
taught us how to pray. Then they taught us about loving each
other and Christ unconditionally. Then we realized they were
teaching us lots more than we ever taught them. Now we thank
God for them and the way they are ministering to us. They
are truly special and we look forward to our time with
them."
"I like being with the Key Center people and seeing their
wonderful simple child like faith that I know God Himself is
pleased with. Their joy
and
excitement when coming to worship on Sunday is something to
behold and is encouraging and exciting to me."
"In the three years that I have been going to Key Pine
Village there have been many evenings that I feel too tired
to "go out another night this week." But, I have never, ever
come away from a time there that I didn't feel revived and
blessed. It is pure joy for me to look upon the faces of the
clients at the Key Center and see their eager, boundless
faith. They truly get the gospel in an innocent and
delightful way that grounds me in the simple, yet
overwhelming promise of the cross. Their hugs, kisses,
handshakes and attention help me to see the Fathers love
more intimately and it is an experience that I treasure."
