Our 2012 Women's Retreat is sold out.
Getaway for a time filled with connections with other women, great food, and new insights into how God uses the disappointments in our lives to bring about unexpected healing.
Dining With Disapppointment
Society’s advice on disappointment ranges from “simply change your expectations”
to “get over it.” Sadly, conversation among Christians isn’t particularly
helpful either. Through experience we find that it is not that simple. The
reality is that disappointments are always served to our table. Yet many of us
feel ill-equipped to move in the midst of disappointment in ways that bring life
rather than destruction. During this retreat, Angel Richard is taking an honest
look at how these two dinner companions, disappointment and hope, can exist
simultaneously.
Retreat Speaker, Angel Richard
Much like you, numerous words can describe Angel. Thinker, reader,
movie-lover, wife, mother, traveler, Washington state resident, hiker, and
avid Chai drinker are a few. Her story is an eclectic assortment of people,
places, and experiences that she uses to speak honestly about
disappointment, struggle, hope, and becoming alive. Crazy as it seems, Angel
is also a Reformed Theological Seminary graduate with her Masters in
Biblical Studies and has 23 years of experience in church, para-church, and
non-profit settings. Prior to her recent move to Seattle, Angel spent the
last 10 years in the Seven Rivers community.
