The Valley of Vision is a collection of Puritan prayers and devotions. The Puritans get a bad rap, often portrayed as dour, legalistic, and holier than thou. The truth is, the Puritans were followers of Jesus trying to live out their faith in their day and age just like us. Many of them faced severe persecution. The strength of Puritan character and life lay in prayer and meditation, and they wrote many of those prayers down. I have been using the Valley of Vision for years as a devotional treasure. You may not realize that it, but it is a regular source of congregational prayers in worship. Below is one Puritan prayer from the Valley of Vision for each day this week.
