WHY: The summer family mission trip provides an opportunity for us to live out our SRC core values in a unique way! We’ll grow in grace as often happens when we serve one another and others. We’ll also see God’s heart for justice as we experience some civil rights activities. We’ll connect in community as families have the opportunity to experience life, mutual encouragement, and a lot of fun together for a week. We’ll serve on mission by serving a foster care camp and an inner city ministry.
WHEN: July 19-25, 2025
WHERE: Clanton, AL (between Montgomery and Birmingham)
WHAT: We’ll be serving in two ways:
1. Raleigh’s Place
Each summer, this ministry hosts over 1,000 kids who are in the foster system, have been adopted, or are being raised by relatives, offering them a transformative week enjoying the outdoors as they learn the Bible. We have been invited to stay at the campground after all the summer activities have finished, in order to clean and restore the campus for ongoing outreach.
2. That’s My Child
We also have the opportunity to spend a day or two serving kids in inner city Montgomery through our ongoing partnership with the ministry, That's My Child.
HOUSING: We’ll be staying in a camp with some pretty amazing amenities to help facilitate some great fellowship and fun for our team. The campground includes cabins, a picnic pavilion, a fire pit and amphitheater, a dining facility, two pools, and a large multipurpose area. There are also many hiking trails and an outside play area.
COST: $150 per person, $600 max per family
