About Isaiah 55 Ministries

Isaiah 55 Ministries works among the deaf and marginalized to make disciples, encourage the worship of Jesus, and promote justice and reconciliation in Reynosa, Mexico. The deaf education program spans from K-12 with an eventual focus on vocational training which could serve to provide opportunities for future employment. The outreach programs include tutoring, Bible class, art, small group fellowship etc. at the community center providing both physically and spiritually for the young people of the neighborhood. Work teams provide an opportunity to come alongside our mission staff to participate, help and encourage us in our purpose. For more information, you may visit their website.

Why this trip?
This trip offers you the opportunity to engage with cross-cultural missions at an affordable price and only a few miles away from the border! Join us in coming alongside a ministry that our church has partnered with and supported for years, seeing how God is moving among the nations, providing new energy to the long-term missionaries in Reynosa, and getting a glimpse of the global church community.

What will we be doing?
Serving alongside Isaiah 55 Ministries doing light construction and outreach with children in the neighborhood where the mission has long been building relationships.

Is it required to have construction skills to serve on this trip?
No! People of all skill levels will be able to participate and engage in the work.
How do we get there?
We will fly Allegiant direct from Orlando to McAllen, Texas. The mission staff will meet us there and take us on a short drive across the border to the ministry campus.

Where will we stay?
In dorms at the Isaiah 55 facility. There is a men’s and women’s side of the dorms, and each dorm is separated into various rooms.

Will there be showers?
Yes, there is warm water for showers and AC in the dorms for cool sleeping.

What will food be like?
The food is fantastic! Breakfast is hot, lunches will be cold (sandwiches), and a hot dinner with dessert. Coffee available all day! Another bonus is homemade guacamole, limeade, salsa, and Mexican cokes offered daily. Accommodations can be made for dietary restrictions.
Can I drink the water?
We provide reverse-osmosis purified water at our dorms and worksites that is safe to drink.
