Dear Seven Rivers Leaders,
IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN….DA DA DA DAAAA, DA DA DA DA DAAAA…
It’s the final quarter of He Must Increase. Can you believe it has been almost two years since we first asked Jesus to increase in our hearts, church, school, generosity, and county? So, has it happened? And what might God have in store as we close one vision and generosity initiative and get ready to begin a new one?
I want to invite you to a special evening of worship and prayer. We’ll celebrate what God has done among us, and I’ll talk about what’s coming up in the Fall and further out in the next two years to come.
You are a leader – you lead our church in tangible and intangible ways. You have influence through your position and through your posture. As leaders it’s our job to lead from out front. It takes all of us embracing the mission that God has given us to bring the healing love of Jesus to broken people and broken places.
Can I tell you a secret? Leaders get to have the most fun! It’s not because leading is glamourous. True leading is hard, it’s sacrificial, and it’s costly. In truth there are many things that are not fun in the moment, but leading is indeed rewarding. Peter once said to Jesus, “We have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?” Jesus said to them, “Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my names’ sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.”
I am so thankful for the ways you lead our church. I would love to spend this evening with you as we head into one last season of He Must Increase. Please join me along with our staff, elders, and deacons Sunday, August 16th at 6:00pm in the sanctuary. There will be desserts after. Childcare will be available for infants–5th grade.
