Join us in western North Carolina, April 19-24, 2026.
This trip is for adults of any age who are fit enough for a full day of physical work.
Contact Blair for more information.
What will we be doing?
You will transport yourselves to the Western NC/Northeast TN area to work in a variety of skilled and non-skilled projects related to rebuilding after Hurricane Helene. Our team will be assisting homeowners or businesses in construction, repair, and rebuilding work.
Is it required to have construction skills to serve on this trip?
No! However, having at least a few team members with construction skills is recommended. Here’s why:
- Skilled workers can tackle more complex projects
- They can guide and teach less experienced team members
- Having at least 1-2 experienced people significantly increases what our team can accomplish
Do we need to bring our own tools?
The agency we will be serving with, Experience Mission, says they will provide all the necessary tools and equipment for projects. However, if team members have their own tools they're comfortable using, they're welcome to bring them. Please label personal tools clearly.
Where will we stay?
We will stay in local church and school buildings. Sleeping on cots or air mattresses. You will need to bring bedding and towels.
Will there be showers?
They tell us yes, but it may not be as luxurious as you are used to. They may need to be quick.
What will meals look like?
Meals will be provided by the Experience Mission staff for the duration of your trip. Meals begin with dinner on Sunday evening, concluding with breakfast on Friday. There will be a cold grab-and-go breakfast set out each morning that includes cereal, bagels, yogurt, fruit and more. You will pack your lunches at breakfast (cold cuts, PB & J, fruit, chips). Dinners will be a hot dinner when you arrive back from your projects.
